MHMM Receives Order for Stainless Hot Rolling Mill from China's Fuxin Special Steel
Mitsubishi-Hitachi Metals Machinery, Inc. (MHMM) recently received an order for hot rolling mill for a new stainless steel mill to be constructed by Fujian Fuxin Special Steel in China.
The construction site is in the environs of Xiamen (also known as Amoy) in Fujian Province. Under the construction schedule, the shipment of the main equipment to China will be completed in February 2012, and the start of hot run operation (production of the first coil) is scheduled for October 2012.
The main purpose of this equipment is production of hot-rolled stainless steel sheets. The scope of the order received is one set of mechanical equipment, including a 7-stand finishing mill.
Fuxin Special Steel was established as a joint venture with a Chinese company by the Formosa Plastics Group (FPG), which is a major conglomerate based in Taiwan. Because this project will be the first steel works constructed by FPG, the key point in the selection of a supplier was the evaluation of the company’s past performance in plant deliveries and successful start-ups. As a result, MHMM was selected based on its extensive experience and excellent reputation in the field of steel plant equipment.
MHMM will contribute to the prosperity of Fujian Fuxin Special Steel through the supply of equipment in this project.
