Merits of Process Integration

This is a mill in which 3 - 6 rolling mill stands are arranged in series, and which rolls the material in one pass in a single direction. A continuous tandem mill with a welder and looper at the entry side represents a large-scale mill that is capable of full automation and that includes the most advanced levels of quality and operating stability. It provides high production efficiency, and is used in the production of a broad range of steel types, from general construction materials to high-grade materials for automobile panels and other purposes.

In order to save energy and reduce weight, high-tensile materials at thinner gauges are being increasingly used for automobile steel sheet. As a result, higher performance is being demanded of the rolling mills. In order to meet this need, a continuous 5-stand tandem mill that is directly connected to the pickling line and that utilizes 6Hi UCM mills for all stands has become the standard.
