Continuous Pickling Line

The i Box pickling tank was developed based on the most advanced pickling concepts. We have applied the pickling technologies which we developed through jet pickling to create an energy-saving tank. In terms of pickling speed, the capacity is equivalent to that of jet pickling. It is also possible to modify existing deep tanks and shallow tanks to become i Box pickling tanks in order to improve capacity when capacity is insufficient with easy modification.

In the case of a new built tank, the heat exchanger is installed inside the pickling tank, making the pickle circulating system which is needed in an ordinary circulating-type heated pickling tank unnecessary. For this reason, continuous pump operation is not required, making this system capable of energy-saving operation. During maintenance and line stops, the pickling solution is discharged into sub tanks, and is pumped up again when the line begins operating.

Jet nozzles are installed on the entrance side and exit side of the pickling tank, and the pickling fluid sprayed by the jet nozzles fills the inside of the narrow rectangular cross-section tank, improving the pickling speed.

With this high-speed pickling tank, because a heat exchanger is installed inside the tank, the circulation pump that was previously used for heating is unnecessary.

Because a circulating pump and external heat exchanger are not needed, this tank prevents sludge clogging and reduces the necessary amount of maintenance, even with steel types that easily produce sludge.

(2) Fishtail detector

The issue to detect the fishtail of hot coils has been resolved by using image processing to detect the end of the hot-rolled coil, something which was previously extremely difficult.
